Mildred was my mother's best friend. I will always cherish the time I spent with them together. She was a positive and loving influence on my life when I grew up in Belle during WWII and beyond. She was always such a kind and lighthearted person. She and my mother came to visit us in St. Augustine. She saw a 'straw' man in the tourist section and liked to comment that he was her boyfriend.
