The Christian Benevolent Funeral Home -MMS announces with the deepest sympathy the transition of Milee Coleman


 


Milee Pettway Coleman, a lifelong resident of Mobile, AL, made her transition from her earthly home to her Heavenly home on August 10, 2022. Milee was born to the union of Birden and Mary Lottie Pettway on January 22, 1931 in Boykin, AL. Milee was a faithful and devoted member of Delaware Street Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher, a member of the Deaconess Board, a member of the Pastor's Aide Board, a member of the Missionary Society, as well as a member of FAVOR (Forgive, Always Give Thanks, Value Godliness, Overflow With Kindness, Renewed Mind).


Milee, affectionately known as Madear and Mimi by her children, grandchildren and great grandchilren was a devoted, loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed sewing (sometimes making matching outfits for her and her two daughters), cooking, baking, shopping, (especially for hats), traveling. watching soap operas and game shows...two in particularly, Price Is Right and Wheel of Fortune.


Milee is preceded in death by her husband, Cornelius Coleman, Sr., parents, Birden and Mary Lottie Pettway, sons, Richard Lee and Don Maurice Coleman.


She leaves to cherish her memory: two devoted daughters Annie (Garfield) Bright, Sr. of Fayetteville, GA, Barbara Sharp (her dedicated and devoted Caregiver) of Mobile, AL; five devoted sons, Cornelius (Emily) Coleman, Jr., Clifford Coleman, Alphonse Coleman, Sr., Ronnie (Janet) Coleman and Melvin Coleman, all of Mobile, AL; one brother, Eugene (Geraldine) Pettway; three sisters, Florea Brown, Matilda Pettway, and Lovie Pettway all of Brooklyn, NY; sister-in-law, Leanner Hunter of Mobile, AL, A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.
