Remembering Miles, Artis, and his family today. After fourteen years I know that this day is still painful and poignant. May he be in Bliss.

Miles was born in Amarillo, TX but always called Canadian, TX "home." He was a scholar who hated school but was salutatorian of his class. He loved the camaraderie of his friends more than anything. He had a huge heart full of compassion and drive. He worked harder to accomplish his goals than anyone else. Always almost the smallest player in the district, he fought to be the biggest encourager for his football teammates. He attended Western State College in Colorado for one semester, that was until his ski lift ticket ran out! Then he returned to Texas to work at Amarillo Artificial Limb and Brace with his dear friends and mentors there. He enlisted because he loved God, his family and his country and was proud and honored to serve each. He worked extremely hard to qualify for flight school and was very proud of what he was doing. He leaves behind his parents, his sister and his wife and a host of family and friends who love and miss him, but know that now, especially now, in heaven, his motto- "No Worries" is absolutely true.

My thoughts have been with you all in the last week. Although I know the pain will never leave you entirely I do know that it does not keep the horrible gut wrenching intensity. I pray that this continues to happen for you.
