Not sure what to say?

Cathy, my condolences to you and your entire family. I know this a devastating loss for you all.

Cathy, So sorry to hear of Mickey's passing. You are in our prayers and thoughts.

Cathy and the Owens family. I extend my deepest condolences. Mickey leaves a legacy students he has taught and mentored over the years. A legacy of scuba divers, who under his tutelage, learned about what is beneath the surface of our oceans, lakes, and rivers. Cathy, I clearly remember you signed off on my Basic Open Water training in 1999 at Fantasy Lake. That opened the door for me to obtain more advanced training, some of which Mickey taught. Yes....Mickey's legacy will live on for...

I greatly appreciated his time and effort in bringing chess (and, therefore, critical thinking skills) to kids all over the region! Many condolences from the Roanoke Homeschool Chess Club.

I will miss Mickey tremendously. I got to know him through our mutual love of teaching children how to play chess. He was always so welcoming and kind to our players and coaches from Lexington, when we would participate in his tournaments in Roanoke. His love for chess, and his commitment to the kids in the Roanoke chess programs, will serve for many years as a reminder of what a kind and generous man he was.
