Not sure what to say?

I was riding my motorcycle down Vallombrosa Ave. in the '60s when my tire went flat. While I was pushing it down the road a pickup truck pulled alongside. I explained to the driver I was going to get the tire repaired. He voluntarily hopped out and we loaded my Honda into the back, then he drove me to Bill Brownell's Honda. It wasn't until a Brownell employee told me that I learned I had just been helped by Mickey Hubbard who owned the Yahmaha motorcycle shop.

Toots..So sorry to hear of Micky's passing. Dann & I were out of town when services were held or we would have surely been there. Mom told us the news when we had called home. Our prays are with you and your children. When you are able stop by the shop anytime. You know Danny is there to help you with your vehicles anytime. Love Always

I just heard about Mickey's passing and wanted to offer my condolences to Toots and family. I have a lot of memories of hanging out at the Hubbard home many years ago and appreciate the open door Mickey and Toots always offered me. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.

I grew up in Chico and enjoyed the "Hard Top" races at the Silver Dollar Speedway. Our family went every week and my favorite driver was Micky Hubbard,I alway cheered or him. I believe his car was 7/11 and I remember he was a real hard charger. One race in particular I watched in horor as he jumped from back in the pack on the start, clipped another car and went end over end several times. He always put on a good show for the fans and thank goodness survived that spectacular wreck to come...

Just heard the news today:

Sometimes mere words aren't nearly enough to express one's thoughts and feelings.
I first met Mick in '64 when I bought my first bike, (a 40" split case '58 BSA A-10). Over the years, we became good friends and I spent a coupla' years working for Mick and Toots at the Hickory St. location.
Mick was a friend, a mentor, a teacher of many things, and was one of the most dead-honest men I've ever met during the 62yrs. I've been here. Seems like 'ol Mick...

I loved motorcycles as a kid of 14 or so. I always hung out at Micky's shop as he was good to me. I bought my first motorcycle about 1956. I had no money, but Micky would always fix up bike problems for next to nothing for me. He was so kind to me. Tony Edler living in Maryland with two Harleys

I remember Mickey when he raced at the Silver $ many many moons ago. My mom and dad were two of his biggest fans out there. Last year I decided that after 30-something years of hearing the name Mickey Hubbard I was going to FINALLY meet him. I went to Winchell's Donuts to one morning and the group of guys were there drinking their coffee and I asked which one was Mickey and they all started laughing and his bright blue eyes sure looked shocked. We talked for a bit about the old days in racing...

Mick and Toots,
Didn't know you real well but after a couple of bikes and some fun times over the years with the dirt bikes, I will always appreciate you and your contribution to Chico. God Speed Mick.

All your brothers are with you now. May peace be with you.
