Milton E. Anderson, 70, of Whiting, Iowa passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Sloan, Iowa with Reverend Richard Moore, officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Township Cemetery, Albaton, Iowa. Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 27, 2015 with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa.
Milton Edward was born August 15, 1945 in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Carl J. and Imogene G. (Parker) Anderson. He attended school at Whiting and graduated from Whiting High School in 1963. After graduation, he attended Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Milton and Donna Gibler were united in marriage on October 8, 1965 at Whiting, Iowa. Three children were born to this union, Christina Kay, John Edward, and Rebecca Ann.
Milton was a lifelong farmer and also raised livestock. He was a man who saw the beauty in life, in the little things, such as a sunrise, a snowflake or the sound of a thunderstorm. His true love was farming and he was at his happiest with his hands in the dirt. He loved tending to his livestock and many pets.
Milton was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Sloan, Iowa.
Survivors include his son, John (Robin) Anderson of Salix, IA; his daughter, Rebecca Anderson of Chicago, IL; special nephew, Richard (Kelley) Gibler of Highlands Ranch, CO; special niece, Nicola (Brad) Baragar of Onawa, IA; two grandchildren, Andrew John Anderson and Kaitlyn DeAnn Anderson; three sisters, Alice (Tim) Reaves of Hartford, SD, Dwala Holmes of Council Bluffs, IA, and Julie (Jim) Patten of Phoenix, AZ; one brother, Carlyle Anderson of Avoca, IA; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Imogene Anderson; his daughter, Christina Kay Anderson; and a brother-in-law, Sam Holmes.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Milton's memory.
