Milton Brodsky
September 29, 1923 - September 18, 2011

My Father, Milton Brodsky sprang from parents who escaped the oppression of Czarist Russia. His childhood was one of privation and toil, working along with his two brothers and sister at the family's soda fountain/tobacco/candy store in Ridgewood, Queens. The Great Depression and its miseries marked his early world-view. Dad was enrolled at Columbia University for Optometry when war broke out.

You have all sat here and listened to who my father was, and how he lived, but I'd like to share with you his final moments.

My mom and I were fortunate to be with him, she was on his right, and I was on his left. We were stroking his head, holding his hand, and kissing his cheek. He was well aware of our presence. As his transition drew closer, my mother was sobbing as she was kissing his face while professing her love and appreciation of their...

Dear Family of Mr. Brodsky--Our family made many jewelry purchases from Reininger's Jewelry Store in Easton over the years, but we remember how kind and helpful Mr. Brodsky was when we were shopping for an engagement ring, and then again for our wedding rings. He was also very patient. We are so sorry for your loss. Please accept our deepest sympathy

Ron and Eileen, Condolences on the loss of your dad. Always remember his smile and warm words. Be grateful for all the memories you all shared and his grandchildren having the honor of having such a wonderful person in their lives. Thinking of you all at this time.

Ron, Eileen and Jackie, Milton, your father was awsome. Always had a smile, and so smart. Ron and Eileen, my sincere condolences, but how fortunate you were to have a father who was always there for you. Jackie, how fortunate you were to have such a loyal, dedicated husband, partner to share in life, wow. Even though I have not seen Milton in many, many years, his winning personality will live on forever, as we all knew him. Milton may not be here on Earth, but will live in our hearts forever.

Ron and Eileen, Condolences on the passing of your father. His contributions to his country and his community certainly stand as a shining example for anyone to aspire to. May fond memories be a comfort to you and your mom.

We are surely going to miss Milton. We have always viewed he and his family as an extension of ours. My father was forturnate to have such a great pen pal. He was so in love with Jacqueline, you could see the love in his eyes when he looked at her. He adored his little Eileen. He was a mentor for Ronald, teaching him the business that he so treasured. He wasn't just a Jeweler, he was indeed a "JEWEL". I feel very blessed to have known such a special person. My heartfelt love and sympathy to...
