Phillips Brothers and Anderson Memorial Mortuary Obituary

Milton Ray Hardy 74, of 2891 Wilmar Road, Vanceboro, NC closed his eyes into the joys of the Lord on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at East Carolina Medical Center in Greenville, NC.

Milton Ray Hardy (Boot) was born on April 17th 1949 to Charlie Hardy Jr. and Viola Mills-Hardy. He grew up with an adventurous spirit that would come to define his life. From a young age, he displayed an insatiable curiosity and a determination to master the challenges that came his way. His journey led him to proudly serve his country as a soldier in the army, veteran, where he exemplified dedication, honor, and sacrifice.

Boot was a hunter in the truest sense of the word, a master of the wilderness, and a steward of nature. He found solace in the great outdoors, passing on the tradition to those who shared his passion. He was a husband to his beloved wife, Mary Helen Hardy. They built a life together a partnership that weathered all storms and shone brightly in the sunniest of days.  As a father, Boot was the embodiment of strength and
guidance.

His children, Milton Roach (deceased), Suprena Evans, Erica Daniels, Latara Evans, Dalton Carmon, Frederick J. Richmond, Tangia Hardy, Christopher Williams, and Kawana Hardy, were his pride and joy. He imparted upon them his values of hard work, integrity, and kindness.

To his family, James Charles Hardy (deceased), Curtis Lee Hardy (deceased), Melvis Viola Hardy, Clarence Earl Hardy (deceased), Annie Hardy Floyd, Cecil Jay Hardy, Harvey Calvin Hardy, Clayton Dennis Hardy (deceased),

Kennis Randolph Hardy (deceased), a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Milton Ray Hardy was the rock upon which they could always lean. His rugged exterior concealed a heart that was tender and compassionate.

Boot faced life’s challenges head-on and emerged stronger, proving that true masculinity is not defined by bravado but by quiet strength and steadfast commitment. As we bid farewell, let us remember the legacy of Boot, a manly man, a loving husband, a caring father, a respected veteran, an accomplished hunter, and the unyielding rock of his family and friends.

He was a schoolmate along with his siblings. Remembering the family in prayer.

Hardy Family, I am so sorry to hear of Cousin Milton’s transition. Sending healing prayers and comforting hugs. Cousin Helen Chapman-Rawlinson

Milton Hardy was a humble and intelligent man. He's my brother dad but treated me like I was his also. The little time we spent together I enjoyed laughing with him. He loved his family and we love him too. He will be truly missed.

So very sorry for your loss.
