Milton Junior Joyner was born in Halifax County, North Carolina to the late Eddie Joyner and Della Mae Johnson Joyner on January 20, 1956.  He transitioned from this earthly life to his eternal home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, October 24, 2022 Greenville, North Carolina.


Milton Joyner attended Halifax County Schools in North Carolina for awhile and decided to move to Brooklyn, NY to continue his education at Lafayette High School, where he graduated. Some time passed and Mr. Joyner decided to move back to North Carolina. On June 9, 2007, he asked Mary Parker’s hand in marriage. On July 5, 2008, Mr. Milton Joyner gave his life to Jesus Christ at Greater Saints Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where he also became an Ordained Deacon on January 24, 2010. Mr Joyner decided to take that title with him to Jireh Outreach Ministries Church Enfield NC, where he became an Ordained Deacon. Mr. Joyner would always lend a hand to anyone that was in need. He worked at the CDC in Rocky Mount, NC  and Safelite in Enfield, NC, before his health failed.


In addition to his parents, Milton was preceded in death by two brothers, James Joyner and Larry Joyner and a step-daughter, Cenchrea Howard.


He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Mary Joyner of the home; seven children, Milton (Jay) Joyner and Haywood (Lamont) Joyner both of New York, Timothy Joyner of New Jersey, Amyieshie Joyner of Halifax, NC, Cassandra Renee Howard of Enfield, NC, Richard Rudy Howard of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Dwayne Howard (Tammie) of Rocky Mount, NC; twenty-six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; six sisters, Shirley Monde’ (Phillip) of New York, Betty Vargas of Alabama, Joyce Joyner Smiley (Alan) of Raleigh, NC, Rev. Mary Barnes, of Enfield, NC, Jeanette Taylor of California, and Lisa DeRamus (Andre’) of Alabama; two brothers, Danny Joyner, and Marvin Hardy both of Rocky Mount, NC; his aunts, Geneva Hardy, Dorothy Hillard, Mittie Bass, Earnestine Hillard, and Mary Jean Caudle, all of North Carolina, and Betty Hinton of Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.


 Funeral service was held on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Greater Saints Chapel Baptist Church, 511 Ringwood Road, Enfield, North Carolina. Burial followed in the Elmwood Cemetery, 23 Justice Branch Road, Enfield, North Carolina.  A public viewing was held on Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm in the Lea and Pope Funeral Home Chapel 215 S.
