Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory - Ballwin Obituary

Ross, Milton, passed away, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at the age of 78.
Beloved husband of 50 years of Dr. Flordeliz Ross (nee Lopez); dear father of Liza (Tim) Gleason, Natasha (William) Olsen and Henrik (Jolene) Ross; grandfather of Jack, Kendall, and Daniel Gleason, Ysabella and Zoe Olsen, Noah, Harper and Reid Ross; brother of Barbara Woodson; uncle of Heather Higgins and Brian Gracey.

Milton’s microbiology career began with his military training at Walter Reed National Military Center and took him to his service with the 406th Medical Laboratory in Tokyo, Japan. He eventually returned to his St. Louis roots to attend Washington University followed by the University of Missouri, Columbia. His career spanned time at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Luke’s Hospital, as Laboratory Director at St. Louis Regional Medical Center and finally, at SSM St. Joseph Hospital.

Milton enjoyed traveling with his family on cruises and Disney trips. He also enjoyed exploring the world with Flora to locations such as the Philippines, Egypt, China, Alaska, and Africa.

Milton will most be remembered for his kindness; he was a gentle soul who loved his family and country. He was an avid Peanuts fan and he loved music from Vince Guaraldi to Jefferson Airplane. We will always remember him whistling a tune.

Services will be private at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Friends may sign the family’s on-line guestbook at Schrader.com.
