Henry W. Dabney Funeral Home - Ashland Obituary

Minnie Reea Henry was born on August 22, 1929 and went home to
be with the Almighty Savior on Monday, December 8, 2014.
Mom gave her life to God at an early age at Providence Baptist
Church. Her parents William ?Ackie? and Nellie T. Henry, Brother
William ?Son? Henry Jr., and God-Child Angel all proceeded her in
death.

Minnie graduated from Hanover Training School in 1945. She
worked at the Ashland Shirt Factory, Speed & Brisco Truck Stop, and
Hanover Learning Center for Boys as a Food Production Coordinator
for many years, until her retirement in 1991. Momma Minnie
loved to cook and was known for her mac & cheese, potato salad,
and lasagna which were a few of her special dishes.
To know Minnie was to love her, with your whole heart because she
would love you in return the very same way. Her greatest love was
that of God, family, and friends.
After her retirement she moved to St. Croix U.S. Virgin Islands to
live with daughter Bonita and grandchildren, later returning to
Virginia to be near the rest of the family. Momma really loved her
family and talking daily on the phone to family members and close
friends.

Minnie leaves to cherish her memories a very devoted daughter
Bonita Henry Yeoman, loving grandchildren Jonelle & John Yeoman,
and her caring daughter Joyce Abrams Hopkins (William) all of
Fredericksburg, VA. Sister-in-law Marget Henry, one Aunt Dimples
Taliaferro, devoted cousins Mary T. Howard, Lloyd Strauss, James
Henry, Velma Spann, Georgia Johnson, Bryant Henry, Kenneth
Howard, and Melvin A. Amos. Other Grandchildren Ashley,
Camille, Alexandra and Latoya. God-Children Xavier, Jayden,
Phylicia, Damien, and Justin. A devoted caregiver Ebony Morris and
a host of other relatives and close friends.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Minnie. Minnie was a dear friend of my aunt Yvonne Boone. May God continue to richly bless each of you.
