As a child, every summer, I got on a plane and spent the entire summer at her house. I would leave the day after school was out, and come back a few days before it started.

My grandmother taught me... to sew. We would spend the summer sewing, making dolls, dresses, and quilting. I would want a dress for my barbie. She would say go in the basement and pick some fabric. Her basement was full of fabric, and doll making supplies, everything you could think of. The hours we spent making...
