Minnie Bruce was the BEST PhD thesis advisor a girl could ever have! She read every word and suggested only the best-nuanced shadings in revision. I remember her changing a "the" to "a" and it made a world of difference in a piece of biography/history. More importantly, she was a genuinely kind and empathetic human being who exuded radiance.
