Minta Barker

Mrs. Barker was my fifth grade teacher at Northwood Elementary in 1963-64. I have many pleasant memories of that class. For the first few weeks at the beginning of the school year, she had us over in small groups to her house to play in order to get to know us better. She drove us to her house after school, stopping along the way to pick up her children. No other teacher ever did that for me. Our sincere condolences. We met Minta about two years ago, thru a mutual friend, Ed Liles. We went to dinner several times. We enjoyed her company and wonderful warm smile. Even though, we only knew her for a short time, she was one of those persons who crossed our path of life and left a lasting impression. She will be missed.
