What a amazing lady she was

I enjoyed knowing Mims as we enjoyed
theatrical performances at the Hartford Stage. She was a gracious, bright and wonderful woman who I visited at the
the Seabury Assisted Living.
She presented me with a copy of her remarkable latest book and I gifted her with a personalized collage. Please accept my condolences on the loss of this remarkable woman.

Mims was a dear friend and will remain my inspiration forever. At 101, she continued advocating for greater peace and justice in this country and across our small planet. She will be profoundly missed.

I met Mims when I was an intervenor in the initial cogeneration rate case before her in the PUCA in 1978. Her decision was a rate that enabled municipal solid waste to energy plants to be built. I met her many times since then and enjoyed her advocacy. She was a great woman and role model. I just talked with her again last month at Hartford College for Women's 85th anniversary. She is a great loss to the world.

Before I even knew Mims' name I knew her as "the lady who was always out on the corner of Farmington and Main in West Hartford Center". She was there holding signs for peace and people driving by would beep in support.

Democrats, which was then the progressive wing of the Democratic Party). She encouraged new activists such as I, and demonstrated how to be effective, polite and positive, all at the same time. She was a major influence in my own political development. More recently I saw Mims at weekly peace demonstrations in West Hartford center. She was truly a great...
