Miriam Swords Riker

When she traveled with me and my folks to visit my paternal grandmother in Mount Vernon, Iowa one summer we would put on our clip on roller skates and roll around the block. Her birth date was 18 days before mine making her the sister I never had.

Every year on the anniversary of the passing of my mom, I pause, sad for a few moments, then think of a fond memory of her. Losing her is something that I will never get over, but I know that since she suffered from Alzheimer's for many years, she is in a much better place. I hope you are sharing this day with fond memories of your wife/mom/grandmother...

Dear Tim and family! I just learned today that Miriam had passed in February this year. Sorry for our loss. Grateful for your years of caring for her. Peace and Blessings! Christa

Tim, Kate, and Allison - I was so sorry to hear about Miriam. I really loved working with her when we were both young moms doing Christian education work at HPCUMC. She was always a calm presence.

I'm so sorry to hear this sad news. I know how hard this is for all of you to bear. I don't think you ever get over losing someone so dear, but it does get easier with time.

What a wonderful spirit Miriam was! Tim, Alison, and Kate, my thoughts are with you all.
