First of all, I would like to say how sorry I am for his family and the trying times ahead. Know that people will be there for you.
As I thought about Mitch and what he has done for others, I also thought about what he had given me.
Mitch did do a lot for other people and had helped so many. He will be missed by many. For me, he gave me one of my greatest gifts. He gave me my best friend and for that, I will be forever greatful.

Mitch, you will be missed! Your spirit, your message, your friendship. I loved you the moment I met you in the "Halls"...your charm and the twinkle in your eyes won me over...then I grew to know the man that you were...so may your soul rest in peace.
My deepest sympathy to Mitch's family.
Sincerely,
Beth Gilbert

I met Mitch in summer camp on Cape Cod when I was 9 years old and we remained friends throughout High School and College at Northeastern University..We drifted apart back in the early 1980's but for many years in between we were close friends and shared a lot of times together both good and bad..While Mitch might not have been an angel at times, one thing I can say is that he had a heart of gold and was a true friend in need..I am saddened to find out that he is gone as I had been thinking about his whereabouts the past several years with the hope of being reunited with him for old times sake..I have nothing but fond memories of him..God Bless him and may he rest in peace

I have fond memories of spending time with Mitch when we were teenagers and he was living on Dudley Road. We had lots of laughs and joy. I have not seen him for probably 30 years but the childhood memories will stay forever. My sympathies to his entire family, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

My condolences to the family and his other friends. I know he had many.
Mitch was such a powerful example to me of how to be a spiritual person. He was a kind and loving man who gave freely what was given to him. He made some mistakes, but we loved him anyway. He will truly be missed.

Oh Mitch...
We always had so much to dissect. Life was an open book with so many perplexing questions we just had to figure out. I hope you'll find all the answers now and share them with me in my dreams.
Forever my love to you. Fellow BrooklineITE.
My heart and prayers go out to you my sweet, dear Rachel and children.
"If there are empty spaces in your life, dreams that never came true, people who were once there but are gone now, the purpose of those empty spaces is not to frustrate you or to brand you as a loser. The empty spaces may be there to give you room to grow, to dream, to yearn, and to teach you to appreciate what you have because it may not have been there yesterday and may not be there tomorrow". I met Mitch just a little over 18 years ago and while I have not had any contact with him over the past few years I would not be where I am today without his kindness and guidance. I will forever be grateful for the support he gave me when I needed it most. Thank you Mitch.

Mitch had excellent recovery when I met him 15 years ago. This disease is incredibly powerful. I'm so sorry to have lost him this way. My condolences to his family.
