Mits Tamura

I will remember you Mits, save a Godiva in heaven for me! :)

Mits and I worked together at the Seattle Engineering Department. He was always willing to help me understand the inner workings of the City. Mits knew everyone and was always helping people make connections. I looked forward to our weekly staff meetings, as he would start them off with a zinger. Years ago, when you moved back to the States he invited me over to meet his family. He was very,very proud of all of you. After you went to N.Y.C. he would keep me updated on your schools and life....

I met Mits when he and I were in an orientation for Graduate School.Both of us had been out of school for a while and I think we were both a little nervous about more schooling. I don't remember taking classes with him but I probably did. Both of us got jobs at the City of Seattle after we finished our class work, although neither of us did the "action paper" which was required to get the degree. Finally I decided to finish and he did it at the same time.

I haven't seen Mits for many years, as I retired in 2006 and we ended up living even more miles apart. Mits always made me smile. He could turn a phrase with just a little bit of a joke in it for those who could keep up with him and who paid attention. He will be missed. :( Edie J.
