Horsham, Pennsylvania
Mitzi J. Keller passed away on April 25, 2020, age 89 years at Abramson Center for Jewish Life in Horsham, Pennsylvania. Mitzi was born in Chester, Pennsylvania to Robert and Esther (Long) Kaplan. A gifted artist from a young age, she spent a lifetime creating art which has filled the homes of several generations of family and friends with beautiful paintings. Mitzi and her first husband, Paul Freed, ran a deli business in the city of Chester for a number of years and were very active at Ohev Shalom Synagogue in Wallingford, Pennsylvania. Later in her career, Mitzi managed a marketing research company in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. Mitzi loved to travel and play cards and mahjong with her friends. With her keen sense of style, her well coiffed hair, and polished nails, she was a source of color, energy, love and sass for all of her family and dear friends. Family meant everything to Mitzi. Her focus and energies were always devoted to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the glue that held the family together and will forever have a special place in the hearts of all those who she touched. Mitzi's beloved husband, Fred Keller, predeceased her. She is survived by her brother, Sol Kaplan and his wife, Mimi Kaplan, sister in law, Janet Rappoport, and Mitzi's close companion, Sam Frankel. She leaves behind her much loved children, Linda Thompson and her husband Richard, Robert Keller and his wife, Susan, Jeffrey Keller and his wife Rebecca, Seth Keller and his wife Sandy, and son in law Marty Gutkin. Daughter, Linda Gutkin predeceased Mitzi. Her legacy includes 13 loving grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
