Not sure what to say?

Amanda,
I worked with your mom many years ago. She helped me through a tough time, always with a smile. She was a wonderful person - she will be missed by many.

Amanda and Family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time. I remember your mom from when we were much younger and I still have so many memories. She was a special lady and it's been nice to read the many tributes made to her, so many people loved her. She did so much as a mom, wife, grandma and for her city. Keep the memories close and cherish the special lady that she was. We just lost my mom, two years ago, on April 15th. Love and hugs to you all.

I will never ever forget the dedication, unselfishness and LOVE generated by this ball of fire. She was the heart & soul of the theater for so many years and touched so many lives in a positive way. And I will always remember how she turned my name into 2 syllables and made it sound right. Much love to the family - miss you all.

Miss Mona Black was the" smallest package"of a REAL person with the most vivaciousness I have ever met .I felt blessed to have enjoyed her company ,point of view, wisdom, wit ,energy and positiveness. As well as her graciousnes style , kindness and her infectious laughter and her joy in life and her family.
Mona influenced Mill Mountain Theatre and many people in a memorable way . We the people of the Roanoke Valley will miss her presence and her giving and her untiring work to help ...

I remember as a kid living across the street and playing while our moms were hanging out together. My thoughts are with you.

I feel so blessed to have had the honor of knowing Miss Mona, as we called her during the Census 2000 work. We were so overjoyed to then see her back amongst us most recently with Census 2010. I hope this message will fill you with hope in knowing how much joy and laughter she brought to us all, with her cheerfulness, beautiful smile and her stories of her family. Mona we will miss you! May God Bless your beautiful family during these difficult times.

Dear Delaney, Amanda and Gail, I am so sorry for your loss. Just know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Mike and I rode through the neighborhood the very day that Mona passed away and spoke with your friend. I did not know of her illness. I will always remember her bubbly personality and how much my KIm loved her. Joyce and Mike Kirk ( Narrows, Va.)

God,You now have her, but how we will miss her!

In our lives we come across some of the most wonderful persons possible and Mona was one of those. I was so lucky to have met her about 25 years ago just around the time when Center in the Square became the center of culture in downtown. She added so much to the whole experience and it saddens me so much to realize we will not have the pleasure of her grace and personality.
