Mona J. Gottschalk

MY NAME IS JIM HAUFE. I HAVE WORKED AT CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES FOR THE PAST 5+ YRS. I PARKED RIGHT OVER THE FENCE AND FREQUENTLY WOULD SAY HI, OR SHE WOULD. SOMETIMES WE'D HAVE BRIEF CONVERSATION ABOUT HER DOG OR THE ONE SHE WAS TAKING CARE OF. WE'D TALK ABOUT THE WEATHER. SHE FREQUENTLY MENTIONED HER KIDS AND THE GRANDKIDS. SHE WAS GENERALLY ALWAYS BUSY WITH SOMETHING IN THE YARD BUT NEVER TOO BUSY FOR AN HELLO AND A SMILE. SOMETIMES SHE'D MENTION HOW SHE LIKED THAT I STILL WORE A TIE AND...

You just could tell after one conversation with Mona that she was special. Not arrogant, boastful, braggart, but kind and compassionate and so friendly. I met her at Bringer Inn. She always sat at the large round table with her friends. They met regularly. I liked her almost immediately. What a smile. Glad I got to meet her. Best wishes to her loved ones. Barbara A. Christie

Our condolences to the family and friends of Mona. Her smile and calming nature made our visits to Dr Mertz so relaxing. Always enjoyed chatting with her about life. RIP Mona!

Mona and I worked together in the early 1970's, her for Dr. Mertz, me for Dr. Norm Holloway on Michigan, Ave. She was a force of nature in the combined offices and I was always in a bit of awe of her as I was in my early 20's and she seemed so much "older." A hard worker and no nonsense person, but also very gracious and helpful. So sorry to hear of her passing.

We were so sorry to hear of the loss of Mona Gottschalk and extend our deepest condolences to her children and family members. Mona and her husband, John, were so helpful when Mary (Kocis) Gottschalk lost her dear husband Earl Sr. in 1995. In remembrance of Mona, we are sending a contribution, as suggested, in support of the Humane Society of Saginaw County. We will always have fond memories of Mona and John.
