Monica J. Kern

Monica was my best friend in high school and freshman year college roommate; today would have been her 60th birthday, and I tried to find her online to wish her a happy birthday. So sad to learn that she passed in 2019. Love you so much, dear Monica.

When Monica was an Assistant Professor at UK, my wife Pat and I (newly married), invited her to dinner at our house. My condolences to the family

Monica served on my masters and dissertation committees at U.K., and I had a class or two with her. She was very kind. When she first joined the social psychology faculty, I was scared of her because she was so accomplished at such a young age! After a while, I learned that she was a deeply compassionate, interesting person. The older I got, the more we had to talk about when we ran into one another.
