A Giver in Many Ways

If you were making dinner, she'd say, `Oh, what can I do?' " Angela Gottlieb said of her cousin Monica Lyons, who would always arrive with a small statue of a child for Ms. Gottlieb's collection. "That was so typical of her."

Ms. Lyons, 53, was an executive assistant at Marsh & McLennan, where she had worked for 30 years.

Ivory Sidberry, Ms. Lyons's boyfriend of six years, sees evidence of her thoughtfulness all around his house. She bought kitchen gadgets, including a huge pepper mill.

"In fact, I just finished using it now," he said recently. "I had a roast beef sandwich, and said, `Hey, what about some fresh pepper? Wow. Monica.' " She organized his constantly growing CD collection, alphabetizing and sorting titles on the computer. "Needless to say, it's sort of outdated now, because she hasn't been here," he said.

Ms. Gottlieb said: "We miss her more as time goes by. You would've thought you wouldn't feel that, but I really do."

In Memory
With Honor & Respect.

Monica was a classmate from Berner HS, Massapequa, 1966. She was always smiling, and had a quiet, gracious determination about her. Her hearts desire was to become an Executive Secretary. May God's good graces continue to gently enfold you and your loved ones.

Monica was in my high school graduating class. I did not know her well, but fondly and with a smile. As every 9-11 approaches my thoughts & heart go out to Monica and her family. According to these postings I have read, Monica "grew up" to be just the kind of person I thought she would be.

Many years ago when I was a guest of a mutual friend at his prom you and your family welcomed me into your home I will never forget the kindness shown to me a complete stranger Thanks for such a wonderful memory May you rest in the palm of God's hand until we meet again

I have known Monica for many years at the Blarney Stone and the White Horse she was such a wonderful person always lauging and making other people laugh around her you are dearly missed and always in my heart.
