Her Canadian kin in Ottawa, Montreal and Chibougamau are in mourning. Monica was a very special person.
Remembering her hearty laugh and her headlong enthusiasms doesn't help. We would cry but she wouldn't have it that way: "No snivelling!" she would insist.

It has been my extreme pleasure to know Monica for the past 1-2 years. We shared a love of good books, and often did book exchanges. I enjoyed spending time listening to her talk about the birds she loved (and the squirrels she didn't). I was equally delighted by her appetite for good food.
