Monica J. Simpson, of Flint, age 47, was welcomed by the Lord Jesus Christ into his Kingdom unexpectedly Friday, January 27, 2012 with open arms. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2011 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Pastor Michael Stallard officiating. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation 1-8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family. "My wife loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. We spent 31 wonderful years together hunting, fishing and spending quality time together. She was the best deer spotter and the best friend I could have ever asked for. You will be sadly missed and always in my heart." Your loving husband, Doug. Sadly missed by four children, Erica Simpson and Steven Lopez, Lisa Simpson and John Gardner, Douglas Simpson and Tiffany Adams and Steven "Bucky" Simpson. She will also be sadly missed by her eight special grandchildren. Tylor "Lil Ty-Ty", Hailey "Who-Who", Chloe "My sweet Chloe", Malachi "Bam'Bam", Melinda "Sissy", Vanessa "Neatta Bean", Little Doug "Acorn", and Brenden "Budda Butt"; brothers, Larry and Jeff Abbott; sister, Dorothy Kester; and many special friends and special girlfriend, Mona. All will miss her dearly, especially one dear to her heart, an Old Man named Clyde. Monica was preceded in death by her mother, Jean Laughrey, father, Miles Abbott and "our" Darling Daughter, Melinda who took "Mommy" by her hand and walked her through the gates of Heaven. AUNT MONICA I CANT BELIEVE ITS ALREADY BEEN A YEAR SINCE YOU GOT YOUR WINGS AND WENT HOME TO THE GOOD LORD. IT DOESN'T SEEM LIKE IT'S BEEN THAT LONG IT JUST SEEMS LIKE YESTERDAY THAT WE WERE ALL TOGETHER AT THE LAKE WITH YOU AND GRAMPS BUT JUST REMEMBER WE ALL LOVE YOU AND WE WILL SEE YOU AGAIN SOME DAY OE YEAR TOMORROW 1/27/2012

7 1/2 months later this candle still burns for u mommy.....i think about u everyday its still very very hard goin on with out u but we r doin it.....i wish i could just wrap my arms around u one more time smell ur purfume one more time tell u I LOVE U one more time! Sorry for your loss, I know the pain, I lost my Son five months ago. The one thing to hang onto is faith and support from loved ones. GOD be with you all....

I have never been so lost for words as I am now. Our deepest sympathy from my family to yours. Thoughts and prayers to all of you. My heart goes out to all of you. Monica was a dear friend, great mom, grandma, auntie and so much more that will be missed very much. Many special memories will be cherished forever "girlfriend".
