Baltimore, Maryland- Funeral services for Ms. Monique Wright (formerly of Columbus, Spencer High '99) will be 12:00EST Monday, November 21, 2016 at the Battle & Battle Funeral Home Chapel 434 S. Seale Rd. Phenix City. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
Ms. Monique Shavon Wright was born on December 23, 1980 in Columbus, GA. She was the daughter of Milton Sr. and Yvonne Wright. Monique was a 1999 graduate of Spencer High School in Columbus, GA. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from Johnson & Wales University in Miami, FL, as well as completing their graduate degree program at the Rhode Island campus.
Monique enjoyed traveling, family, friends, developing marketing strategies, writing and producing music, and cooking at home. After living in Baltimore, MD for many years, she established a cleaning service named 'American Elbow Grease'.
Monique was a hard worker and started learning the electrical and HVAC trade from her father at an early age. During her high school years she worked alongside him as an apprentice. Monique was well-known for being funny, outgoing, and a devoted friend.
Monique went to sleep on November 10, 2016 at her home in Baltimore, Maryland.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, George Wright, and her paternal grandmother, Corine Wright.
Left to cherish her memories are: her loving parents, Milton Sr. and Yvonne Wright of Columbus, GA; her younger sister, Millison Wright of Charlotte, NC; her younger brother, Milton Wright Jr. of Marietta, GA; her maternal grandmother, Katie Simmons of Phenix City, AL along with numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, co-workers, classmates, and friends
