Not sure what to say?

He was truly, a great man in many ways!

I will miss my dear cousin. I have many lovely memories of him while growing up. Monroe, rest well. You earned it. Love, Judy

Dear Mrs. Himelstein, Mary and Jane,
I was so sorry to read of the passing of your husband and father. Though I never had the privilege of meeting Dr. Himelstein, I'm sure that I would have marched myself straight to his office if I ever had the need. For all of my years working at NCH,
I heard many stories of this very special man both from Mary and from others who were lucky enough to be treated by him. From all accounts, he was a gentle healer of bodies and the kindest of...

Dr Himelstein will be greatly missed by his neighbors on Whitney Lane. Our deepest sympathy to his entire family.

I met Dr. Himelstein when I was young and have always referred to him as "super-surge". He was probably the kindest, gentlest adult I had met and that continues to today. He was one of my dad's favorite golfing partners and saved my mother's leg from cancer nearly 30 years ago. Dr. Himelstein's passing marks a great loss for so many. Faith, Mary and Jane, thanks for sharing such a wonderful human being with all of us.

Although I meet Dr. Himmelstein only once, I am lucky to call his daughter Mary my friend. It is through her that I have enjoyed his spirit and I know he will be greatly missed by all.

I first became acquainted with Dr. Himmelstein on a Sunday afternoon many years ago when my son was diagnosed with acute appendicitis.
THe physician who came to the house sent him by ambulance to Hartford Hospital and recommended Dr. Himelstein. We were so pleased with his manner, his understanding of children, and his kindness. I never forgot him and when I had to have a growth removed from my hand, he operated on me and was the same wonderful doctor I remembered. He will be sorely...

As a graduate of the Hartford Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1958, I remember Dr. H. well. He always had a smile and a greeting for me whenever we passed in the halls. HH has lost a good one! And, who could ever forget the plaid pants?

The world needs more people like you. To quitely lead, strongly march and help so many. We all aspire to that great goal. You have done it. John & Allen
