Monroe Paxman

Although this notice was some years ago, I missed it then. There were many pleasant hours that I spent at wildwood sometimes with Paxmans. I lived upstream for years and met many great people with the Paxmans and in later years expected to see them at some concerts. They were a great contribution to many communities. Wildwood itself was a great amusement park for many years, and I even enjoyed being in the caboose of a trainride there. My father even stayed there before marriage. It was well...

I came to admire Monroe Paxman through his daughter's devotion and love for him. I knew him only slightly, but felt he was a good person and a great soul. My heart goes out to his remarkable family for he will be dearly missed. How comforting that he will be with loved ones again. Tom and I send our love to dear Carolyn and Marion.

David and family, our condolences. What a couple Monroe and Shirley were, attending every academic and cultural event and constantly supporting good causes. They were the finest examples of active and engaged citizens, and they seemed to enjoy every minute.

Dear Annette and Scott:

I was so saddened to read of the death of your wonderful dad, but happy to realize that he and your mom are now reunited. I remember your parents as strong, loving, lovely, interesting and interested people and am thankful I had the privilege of knowing them, if only peripherally. Linda joins me in sending our sympathy and love your way at this difficult time.

Uncle "Pax" was great. He made the cabin at Wildwood truly magical. He taught me how to tube the Provo River when I was just a boy. Always friendly and caring he will be truly missed.

Oh how I loved Monroe and Shirley. As the former head of Sunstone (2001-2008) and frequent attender at LDS and various cultural events, it was always a thrill and privilege to see and talk with them. Their goodness and lifetimes of service continue to inspire me in my life and work.

My heartfelt wishes for peace and comfort go out to all you family members at this sad but poignantly beautiful time.
