LIVED IN HOLLYWOOD FROM 1943 UNTIL 1995 AND MY CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN HAVE SWEET MEMORIES OF JAXONS...MONROE GAVE MY NEPHEW HIS FIRST JOB..RUTH DOYLE,PALM COAST FLORIDA

Linda and Mark: Our thoughts are with you and your family.

I followed my twin brother Jim on the ivories at Jaxson's in 1975. My mother always told us to practice because we might end up playing piano in an ice cream parlor. Thanks, Monroe for bringing my mother's prophecy to fruition.

"Ragtime Glen " Ellington

Monroe gave me a job playing Jaxson's old upright piano in the mid-70's. It was great fun and I left a far better musician than I arrived. Thanks for the opportunity, Monroe! You were one class act.

"Ragtime" Jim

Your postcard is the "measuring stick" for my nephews, newly living with me in Dania Beach.....pressed flat against their heads and the door jam, it has already helped record 1" growth for the older one (10) and 3/4" for the other (9). And just the other night, for the first time, the boys, their mother and I got to celebrate the "first school play" at Jaxson's. Thank you for peach and banana flavors and all good memories.

Monroe, you were so talented, caring, gifted, with a "heart of gold", that touched everyone that had the pleasure of knowing and loving you. Your smile touched us all. We'll always remember how "surprised" and "proud" you were when The Greater Dania Beach Chamber honored you as the "Small Business Person of the Year". We always looked forward to seeing you at Hollywood's broadwalk, spending many hours chatting with you; and, of course, at Jaxsons, one of our favorite places! You will truly...

Thank you for the wonderful memories, you provided happiness for so many. We celebrated birthdays, dance recitals, etc. at Jaxson's. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

God rest you, Mr. Udell.

Monroe, you were such a special part of our family for so many years. We have missed you but we are glad you are no longer suffering. You will be missed by many and never will be forgotten. You have touched the lives of so many and made such a difference to the world.

The Newmark Family.
