Lowndes Funeral Home and Crematory - Columbus Obituary

Bailey “Montana” Jacobs, 31, of Caledonia, MS, passed away Monday, September 15, 2025, at his residence.


Visitation will be Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Service will be Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 4:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS, with Bro. Kenny Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at Egger Cemetery. Lowndes Funeral Home will be directing.


Montana was born April 21, 1994, in Columbus, MS, to Tamara K. Jacobs and Robert (Robbie) Brian Jacobs. He worked in Sales at Southern Pipe in Columbus, MS. Montana was an avid sportsman; he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved sports, especially baseball, and he loved playing golf with his dad. Montana loved life and loved spending time with people. He was a very generous soul and would help anyone he could. Montana always had a big smile on his face, no matter where you saw him.


Montana is survived by his father- Robert (Robbie) Brian Jacobs; mother- Tamara K. Jacobs; brother- Thomas Nathan (Lillie) Wheeler; brother- Robert Linn (Amber) Jacobs; nephews- Lejand Bailey Wheeler, Robert Linn “RJ” Jacobs, Jr, Brent Cain, Cayden Cain, and Nathaniel Drake Colvin; niece- Addison Cain; his special girl – Ella Grace; and numerous family and friends.


Pallbearers will be Gary Jacobs, Robert L. Jacobs, Nathan Wheeler, Dallas Cockerham, Eli Taylor, and Terry Woods. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lejand Bailey Wheeler, Robert Linn “R.J.” Jacobs, Jr., Southern Pipe Employees, and his cousins and friends.


In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any donations to help with funeral expenses.

So sorry to hear about this. Montana helped coach the soccer team when my oldest was little. He had a gentle, kind, and fun way with the kids he coached. He will be missed. Praying for the family. May God comfort and strengthen you all.

Montana always had a smile on his face, a very pleasant young man.
