Not sure what to say?

Monte was one of kind. I remember a jam session with Monte at his Farm in Hazel Green when I was first learning to play the guitar. Monte was so patient and helped so many people learn. I later had the honor of being on stage with him many times. Monte was not only a great fiddler- he was a true showman on stage. He was a friend to all.

Monte was truly a great musician and a joy to be around. I'm proud to call him friend! Have many wonderful memories of Monte,Leon,R.D McBride,my dad Bill Wilbourn and my son Bryan Wilbourn pickin & grinin together!Monte once told my young son Bryan "Son if you don't do anything else, learn one HOT LICK on the guitar, and when you come into a room of muscians, play that HOT LICK and then tell them "boys I'd like to stay and play, but I gotta go for now" and they will think you are a great...

So sorry to lose a great friend.
The Wayne McFarlen family

I grew up at the ball and Monte gave all of my brothers their start in music. My prayers are with the family and I agree The Lord now has a great fiddle player.

What a blessing Mr. Crowder was to Huntsville and the music industry. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Mr. Monte Crowder, condolences.

William Hampton, Huntsville Revisited

So sorry to hear, Prayers for the family. I thought a lot of him and enjoyed being neighbors with him on Walt Campbell Rd.

Monte was a good friend and his brother Leon taught me how to play the fiddle. He can now play the fiddle in God's band. He will be missed by me.

God bless you. My family went to see and played music with Monte long before I came along. My mom and her family played with Monte and was regulars at the Snuff Dippers Ball. Rest In Peace.
