Monte was an amazing man and a wonderful friend, I will miss him.

I will miss my yearly birthday wish and the wonderful laugh that always followed . Thank you so much for always being there for Corey during his years st KU. I will cherish our friendship and pass it on whenever possible.

Kay and Family, Monte was a huge supporter of Lawrence Memorial Hospital and a good friend of mine. Always positive and anxious to provide feedback it meant a lot coming from him. Thank you for sharing him with us.

One of my favorite memories of Mr. Johnson is when he and Mrs. Johnson were in the suite for the Big 8 basketball tournament when it used to be at the old Kemper Arena. We were playing Iowa State and it was hard to see because the fans on the other side of the glass kept standing up. Mr. Johnson was a very tall man (especially to a young girl) and for him not to be able to see was really something. Anyway, he said to me, "you know what ISU stands for don't you?" Monte was a unique person, generous with time and advice-willing to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with all of us athletes and Phi Delts for many years. KU and all have lost a star.
