Not sure what to say?

Monty was my first real boss. As a senior at Ann Arbor Pioneer this was my after school job. Monty ran across my mind only to find he has passed. A great man, leader and husband. We all knew what family meant to him.

Thank you all for your support. I try to live life in way that would make my father proud. We all miss him greatly.

I first experienced Monty at Gelman while he was wearing a cravat and smoking a cigar. Now that's someone who's got a low need to be liked I thought. In 1980's Michigan that was an outlier persona. Good for you I thought. I still think that. He had a quote on his desk describing empathy. He was unique. Smart and funny. My positive energy goes out to everyone who's life was touched by meeting him. Truely a memorable character.

I worked with Monty at the Michigan Technology Council. He was a solid, no nonsense, smart man with a great vision for economic development in Michigan. It was an honor and a privilege to know him.

Monty as a young single Mother working for you at Arbor then Whatman, you were the kindest most understanding person I had ever met. To this day I will never forget you changing the tire on my old rust bucket, after removing your jacket & tie and stepping out of your gold Jag! You were always bigger than life, but you were never so big you forgot how to be good to people or that we all put our pants on the same way. YOU WILL BE MISSED! I still use many things learned by you & the staff at...

So very sorry to hear of your loss Julie and family. Monty was an awesome funny and generous man. I worked under him at Gelman as the first woman sales person based in the D.C. area. He treated me like one of the men and made sure I had his full support.
Remember all the wonderful memories and know he is waiting for you.

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

I'm sorry I only new Monty in high school, we both moved away and led our adult lives away from Tigard, but, we never forgot our friends & classmates. Rest in peace Monty, we will all miss you!

I am truly sorry for your loss. Monty was a good man and great boss. I worked with him for a lot of years and he taught me a lot. He will be missed.
