Not sure what to say?

To the Wootten Family: Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. I feel privileged to have known Coach Wootten -- meeting him for the first time as camper at Metropolitan Area Basketball School and working with him and Coach Gallagher as a counselor at MABS during my years playing for St. John's. Although I played the last of seven varsity games against DeMatha nearly 43 years ago, I can remember every one of them. St. John's v. DeMatha was, and is to this day, a rivalry with no...

Dear Cathy, My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family on the loss of your wonderful father. I will always remember the time he took to speak with our history class at Immaculata. Gifted, generous man whose priorities were always in the right order.

As a manager of the 73-74 Mackin High basketball team, I remember the battles we had with DeMatha!
Great respect for you and the teams you coached. Rest In Peace coach!

I was on Morgan's 1st team @ St Johns . He was the most impactful person in my life. He taught me what it means to commit to achieving a goal and paying the price to achieve it . I carried those principles through my career . How lucky we all are fo having had Morgan in our lives . Blessings to you KATHY and your family . Jack White . St Johns class of 1956

Sorry for your loss, Condolences to Family & Friends.

I saw his team come to Gastonia NC to play Ashbrook with James Worthy. DeMatha had Sidney Lowe and Derrick Wittenberg. Stags won by 20! An immortal icon. RIP

Morgan's sister, Clare, and my sister, Sally Murphy Holt, were best friends at St. Michael's school in Silver Spring, MD.
My prayers are with the family. May he rest in peace.

Thanks for being the kind supportive person you were for all the young men you affected over the years. DeMatha wouldn't be DeMatha without you.

From 1998 to 2007 I attended Coach Morgan's basketball camp at Frostburg State University and grew into the individual I am today. Being able to learn from him and occasionally sharing a meal with him has stayed with me over these years. In 2013, before finishing college, I visited the basketball hall of fame and reveled in the exhibit for Coach Morgan, remembering all the lessons he taught many people over the years. May he rest in peace and my sympathies to the Wooten family.
