Morgan Ryan Wright

Morgan Ryan Wright, age 26, of Big Pine Key, FL passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023.

Morgan was born on February 20, 1997 in Dayton, OH to Jeffery Scott Wright and Julie Ann McMaken Wright. Morgan was a graduate of Southwestern High School in Pulaski County, where he played football and ran track. He was a journeyman Electrician and Superintendent like his grandfather and his Dad. He worked with his Dad and for Amteck of Lexington, traveling in the United States doing commercial building projects. He loved being home in Kentucky, being on Lake Cumberland with family and friends (OPC of LCK), boating and relaxing in the Florida Keys, and listening to music. His favorite restaurant (and his Dad's) was J. Alexander's prime rib and the Alex salad. His favorite NFL Team since he was 8-years old was the New Orleans Saints.  Work, boating, trips to Vegas, food & cooking: everywhere Scott went, Morgan went. They were always together from the minute Morgan was born. 

He is survived by his parents, Jeffery Scott (Julie Kristine) Wright of Big Pine Key, FL and Julie Ann McMaken Wright of Piqua, OH; his siblings, Samuel Reck (Julie) Landers, Brady (Kate) Reck, Brian (Erica) McCartney, Jakob (Alaina) Buehler and Maximillion (Savannah) Buehler; grandparents, Richard (Patricia) McMaken, Sharon Fischer and William Bennett; his aunts and uncles, Jennie (Tom) Burelison, Tammy (Dusty) Furrow, Tracy (Rose) McMaken, Tony (Vicky) Wright, Darwin Mote, Kelly (Matt) Brunsman, Mike Ramsey and Kimberly Acord; numerous nieces and nephews, loving cousins and wonderful friends, from here at Lake Cumberland, Southwestern High School, Florida Keys, Covington, OH and Amteck of Lexington.

Morgan was preceded in death by his grandfather Lavon Wright, grandmother Charlotte Williams, grandfather Gordon Acord, grandfather Kenneth Fischer and grandmother Sharon Bennett.

Visitation will be on Saturday, August 5, 2023 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset, KY 42503.

A Celebration of Life service will follow on Saturday at 1:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral with words by Scott Wright.  Burial will be at Southern Oaks Cemetery.
