Smith-Mason Funeral Home - Riverside Obituary

Morris passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2016. Morris was a resident of Barrington, Rhode Island at the time of his passing. He was the first person from his town to graduate from college attending the University of Illinois on an athletic scholarship and majoring in accounting. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was married to Audrey. His funeral service will be held on Saturday October 15 at 10AM at St. John's Episcopal Church191 County Road Barrington RI 02806. Burial will be with Military Honors at Forest Chapel Cemetery in Barrington. Visiting hours are Friday from 4 to 8 at Smith- Mason Funeral Home 398 Willett Avenue Riverside RI 02915. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Gaebe Eagle Scout Scholarship Fund at Johnson Wales University 8 Abbott Park Place Providence RI 02903 or to St. John's Episcopal Church 191 County Road Barrington RI 02806.

I just learned of the Chancellors passing, he was an inspiration, and moved Johnson &Wales forward in many innovative ways, he truly cared about the well being of the students as I know first hand when I experienced difficulties in the late 80s early 90s at the Charleston Campus he and Administrative assistant Jackie quickly assisted in resolving any issues that might have arose. I just learned of his passing, he will be sorely missed, and always admired.
I met Dr. Gaebe, when I was Only 13 years old and he allowed me to go to work, with my dad Ed Bohigian, at the small J & W Garage. I waxed the small fleet of buses.
I was allowed to wax the Cadillac, and boat Dr. Gaebe owned, and I met him there at the JWU Transportation Garage.

We have so many fond memories of Mr. Mose and your mom Audrey. Dinner at the Gaebe's in Barrington was always so interesting and so much fun. He always had a smile and a hug for me and my family.

He'll be missed by so many people.
