I will forever be indebted to Morrie for taking me under his wing when I joined Tonkon Torp Galen Marmaduke & Booth in 1986. Here are just two memories. Morrie was always the first one at the office each morning, and when Owen Blank and I-the other two earlier birds-arrived, the three of us would have coffee together in the big conference room. Two partners and one clueless baby associate. In the 1980s, there weren´t many women lawyers at Tonkon Torp-or any other law firm. One morning...

I first met Morrie in 2003 when I joined Tonkon Torp and he continuously amazed me with his energy, enthusiasm and good cheer. I appreciate very much his mentorship and his contributions to the firm and the community. I will miss him.

Morrie was the best business lawyer in the state. Morrie was a mentor to me even though we were in different firms. His word was good, and his sense of right and wrong were impeccable. I recall a transaction we worked on together on opposite sides. I objected to certain activities of Morrie´s client post closing. Even though the agreements were unclear as to whether my client was right, Morrie´s response was that regardless of what the agreements said, he would advise his client to cease the...
