Not sure what to say?

Dear Grossman Family,

My husband Matt and I were lucky enough to live in the condo underneath Morris for just under 6 years. He was a wonderful man whom I had loved to talk with, share stories, bake goodies for, listen to him play the piano, Morris was just a delight. Every summer he always lent us his patio to put out tomato plants out because he had the best sun and he was just a wonderful neighbor ...we are so sorry to just be hearing this, but would like to extend our deepest...

Dear Grossman Family,

We want to send our sincere condolences to all of you. Morris was a good friend to Mia and Vic and a charming and loving man. He and Jack were like brothers to Vic and Mia - and they are both missed.

With affection,

Condolences to family and friends of this remarkable man: a friend and extraordinary teacher. I will miss him.

I met Morris in the summer of 1977, at an NEH seminar in Boulder and I have just received the sad news of his passing from another friend who was with us that summer. A word of support from Morris played a part in getting my first full-time teaching position, where I find myself now in my thirty-third year. Morris combined, in such a rare way, heart-felt warmth with sharp intelligence and dry wit. Conversations from decades ago still echo, in my mind and I'm sure in many others.

Morris was a warm friend. His capacity for loyalty and caring cannot be overestimated.

I am so sorry for the loss of your loved one. Please find peace and comfort in Psalms 65:2.

I have lost a wonderful neighbor and friend -- Morris, you will be very missed!
