Not sure what to say?

To Carolyn, Eric, and Kristin: Our hearts go out to you and all the members of your family upon the death of your husband and father, Dr. Morris H. Morgan III. His obituary attests to his excellence and pioneering achievements in engineering, academics, industry and athletics. We knew him first as Carolyn´s adoring husband and the father of Kristin when she was a student at Hampton Roads Academy along with our daughters, Michelle and Jennifer. We got to know Morris much better over the...

I tell the story of the day he changed the trajectory of my life toward an academic path, in a hallway in Olin, every single semester to RPI's Electrical, Computer, and Systems Engineering students. He simply asked, "Why aren't you going to graduate school?" His legacy lives on. Because of Dr. Morgan, I am the first African American woman tenured professor in Engineering at RPI. I will not be the last.

Carolyn and family Lee and I cannot express our devastation about your/our loss of Morris. I will miss our wonderful bike rides to Charles City County. Most of all I will miss the fellowship, insight, shared values and laughter that we experienced on our rides. Much to my disappointment Lee and I are in Nova Scotia and will not be able to attend Morris´ memorial service. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Morgan family.

We grieve with you; this is a shock to us al and we pray that God will provide you with...
