Moe and I had a wonderful friendship in schools in Sterling. In elementary school I actually beat Moe in a sprint. He was always happy and friendly and was very popular. I will miss him. When he was around there was always laughter.

Every now and then you meet someone who has the capacity to draw people to them. Mo Sandstead was one of those people. He was one whose life was an inspiration. He showed us how to live with spirit and how to plumb the depths of the human experience. Remembering Mo brings a smile. Knowing he has left us brings a tear. This was a good man. Knowing Mo was a privilege.
