Morrison Dixon, age 55 was born on August 3, 1967 in New Orleans, LA., heeded to his master’s calling to eternal rest on Tuesday May 16, 2023. He attended Florence J. Chester Elementary School, James Derham Middle School and Booker T. Washington, Sr. High School of New Orleans, LA and was also member of the ROTC (Reserved Officers’ Training Corps) program at Booker T. Washington, Sr. High School. He was employed on his last job for 15 years as a Produce Clerk at Calandro’s Supermarket in Baton Rouge, LA where he worked until the lord called him home. Morrison Dixon leaves to cherish his memories - one daughter, Shamyri Spears, one son, Timothy Dixon, his fiancé’ Nina Stokes, father figure to Tashia Arthur, Rashad Spears, and Dashane-Stokes, two sisters Geraldine Dixon Cosby and Verlesia Dixon Miller, one brother Joel Dixon and sister in-law Juanita (Caine) Dixon, brother’s in law Gregory Cosby and Carl Miller, Sr., nieces: LaKecha Dixon, Montreal Dixon, Tashell Jones, Kellie Cosby, Leslie Cosby, Tiffany Dixon, Elizabeth Miller Hunt, Ashia Kenyatta Caine, Teneisha Johnson, nephews: Matthew Dixon, III, Carl Miller, Jr., Gerard Miller, and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents the late Matthew Dixon, Sr. and Lear Chapman Dixon, four siblings, Carolyn Dixon, Matthew Dixon, Jr. Noel Dixon and Albert Dixon. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Gertrude Geddes Willis Funeral Home, 2120 Jackson Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70113 at 12:30 p.m. Visitation from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Interment Holt Cemetery, 527 City Park Avenue, New Orleans, LA. 70119.
