Not sure what to say?

Mort, you were one of the true originals -- trendsetting, pioneering, a real change agent. Your spirit was amazing. Your laugh was one of the very best. You will be missed by many.

I just heard the news. I worked closely with Mort at the Marino Center. He was a mentor, leader and tireless member of our Board. So sorry to hear this news. Anne McCaffrey

Mort and I were at Yale together and I haven't seen him for many years. He was an outstanding guy who was so smart and witty, and a pleasure to be around. I have such great memories of him. My sincere condolences.

My mom and I just heard of Mort's passing. We were deeply distressed. We called him Mike through the years at Shady Hill until our last chat at my brothers funeral. My brother and Mike were close friends at Shady Hill and Mike's mom.Eleanor, was close to my parents .We have fond memories which we will cherish. My mom, Lois Mary Diehl and I send our condolences to all of the family .Much Love,
Sarah T.Diehl.

I met Mort only once for a brief time this past summer, when he was kind enough to host friends of his son Ben from the diabetes camp he was working at. I've known Ben for many years through Camp Joslin and had heard how great of a guy he was from both Ben and those there who knew him. It didn't take long to recognize why he was so highly spoken of, as I got to see firsthand his charm, humor, generosity, and kind-hearted nature. He had a truly special relationship with his family. I didn't...

Maryann, Michael and Family,

We were shocked and saddened to hear about Mort from William, and we can only imagine the extent of your grief. He was always so welcoming and kind to us. Our sincere sympathy and prayers for all of your family at this difficult time.

A legacy. That is Mort. And my heart, and so many of my friends' hearts, are broken with Mort's passing. And he is the reason for those friendships. We all grew up together, professionally and socially, due in large part to the environment Mort created. For many of us, an ice cream truck in the afternoon at 275 Dan Road was the norm. As was the popcorn machine in the afternoons, and the hamburgers and hot dogs that Mort made for us on an occasional Friday afternoon in the summer.

With deepest sympathy to Mary Ann and his beloved children; all of whom he loved so deeply. We are all blessed to have known and worked with Mort.
Shalom.

Gratitude, sympathy, and love to each of you. How tough these days are. Mort was so helpful to me when I experienced a very serious/traumatic accident while at Lesley. He was a generous, loving, great man. Sr. Carol Ziegler, SND - Chief Mission Officer Notre Dame College
