Mort and I were at Yale together and I haven't seen him for many years. He was an outstanding guy who was so smart and witty, and a pleasure to be around. I have such great memories of him. My sincere condolences.

My mom and I just heard of Mort's passing.We were deeply distressed.We called him Mike through the years at Shady Hill until our last chat at my brothers funeral. I met Mort only once for a brief time this past summer, when he was kind enough to host friends of his son Ben from the diabetes camp he was working at. I've known Ben for many years through Camp Joslin and had heard how great of a guy he was from both Ben and those there who knew him. A legacy. That is Mort. And my heart, and so many of my friends' hearts, are broken with Mort's passing. And he is the reason for those friendships. We all grew up together, professionally and socially, due in large part to the environment Mort created. For many of us, an ice cream truck in the afternoon at 275 Dan Road was the norm. As was the popcorn machine in the afternoons, and the hamburgers and hot dogs that Mort made for us on an occasional Friday afternoon in the summer.
