Not sure what to say?

A great human being and leader. Still missed by his many friends and of course, Family.

I am heartened to read all the comments posted here by Morton Bernstein’s friends, co-workers and staff. It’s not an ordinary boss who can count on such a warm obituary from his members of staff.

I knew Morton as Pa, my wonderful grandfather. As his grandson, I can vouch for the comments made about his love for the family. Pa was a man who had a balanced mix of warmth, good judgement and humour. All of which were central ingredients to his successful conduct of family and...

I never had the opportunity of meeting Mr. Bernstein but I have been an Ollie's employee for over six years and my previous experience(15 years) with a family owned retail operation gives me an appreciation of Mr. Bernstein's tireless work and inventive vision. All of us at the Allentown Ollie's will keep Mr. Bernstein in our hearts and minds as we,hopefully, satisfy the customers he led to our store.

We would like to express our sympathy to Mimi and the entire Bernstein Family for their loss of Mort. From the first time we met he seemed to be like a friend we have known our entire life. He will be missed. I will personally miss those times when he would pop into my office and ask "What's New?" and we would talk about Family, Sports and possibly business...and we would end with "Take Care".

We only knew Mort through Ollie's and his employees in Allentown. He will be leaving this old world a much better place then he found it. May G_d bless and keep his family comforted with the knowledge their Mort was very special. Clearly Mort was loved by all who knew him as friend and father.

Sincerely,
Gregg and Nancy Heilman

Mort was my uncle, but more than that, he was also my mentor. I'll always remember the smile on Mort's face when he would cite one of his favorite phrases that nothing in this world happens until somebody sells something. I'll also miss Mort's warmth, his entrepeneurship, his integrity, and his love of family. But, most of all, I'll miss my Uncle Mort.

I never met Mr. Bernstein, but heard alot of good words about him. I have alot of respect for the man for what he had accomplished.

We feel honored to have known Mort for many years as a friend. He was truly an honorable man and it was our pleasure to follow his success in both his business and his personal life. Condolences to Mimi and the entire Bernstein family.

Our thoughts and love to the Bersteins who have always been so kind and welcoming. We were honored to know Mort and are privileged to have you as friends.
