Just heard of Mort's passing. On behalf of the Speevak clan, may I pass on our very sincere condolences to Auntie Sarah and family. Plage Laval of course seems not that long ago, and I certainly have vivd memories of 'rescues' as a child by a comparatively very young Dr. Korenberg, GP, who travelled to the "country" from the city, getting home to find a young nephew with a punctured foot that needed immediate tending to, on more than one occasion. We are deeply saddened to learn of Uncle Mort's passing.
I have fond memories Uncle Mort and Auntie Sarah.
I recall being at the cottage in Plage Lavalle, dinners at Bubbie Nettie's when our families were together. Uncle Mort was a brilliant man and I recall a gifted musician. I read his books when I was younger with great interest, his ideas were novel but made brilliant sense.
