Not sure what to say?

In loving memory of Charlotte and Cantor Morton Lula z"l. I used the Kula Rossovsky tropes to chant and loved being in the Delightful company of Mort And Charolette kula. Memories are definitely a blessing. Today was my Bat mitzvah, it was Shavuot in 1959 and at adath Jeshurun in Minneapolis. At this point in 2024, an excruciatingly difficult time for us, their memory is comforting. Perhaps someone will read this so many years later. Ellen Goldenberg, Long Beach Ca.

my he be bless in high shem eyes

For many years morty and Charlotte lived next door to us in
Roslyn, L.I. and Evan and the boys were good friends. We also
belonged to the same temple.
Please extend our condolences to the family.
Janet Freirich

Cantor Kula was my bar mitzvah coach at Temple Beth Sholom during 1958. He taught me trope and Lech Lecha. 30 years later, I visited with Cantor and Mrs. Kula in Minneapolis at their home - February 1988. We reminisced about our New York days and all the intervening years. I had become a bar mitzvah coach. Cantor Kula gave me copies of the Rosowsky-Kula tropes that he worked on at the JTS during his seminary years. I have treasured these manuscript pages all these years. My students have been...

The past few years Chazan Kula would frequently visit our shul on shabbat. He would honor US with the haftarah - perfectly and so melodically. But most importantly, after services he ALWAYS came over and complemented the Cantor and myself - with specifics about the sermon or a chosen melody. What a Mensch. Temple Menorah mourns with the entire Kula family. Rabbi Eliot Pearlson

My condolences to the Kula Family. May his memory always be a blessing.

i saw that shiva this eve is at 6:45. when is the latest that people can come? anybody know?

All of my childhood memories of liturgy and nusach were inspired by our cantor, Cantor Kula of the Adath Jeshurun Synagogue in Mpls. He was a wonderful Hazan and the entire Kula family had a special presence in our kehillah. I will think of him and the twinkle in his eyes as I sing the melodies he taught. Irwin, Aaron, Mark, Barry, Elliot and David, I am so sorry for your loss!! My thoughts are with all of you. Mark, you have your father's voice---this is an honor and you've made him so...

I was Cantor Morty and Charlotte Kula's Flower Girl at their wedding at Temple Beth Shalom in Roslyn Heights. It is with deep sadness to hear of his passing. I will always remember his wonderful smile. May his memory always be a blessing to those who knew him.
