Not sure what to say?

I was just listening to The Band and was thinking about Morty who introduced me to them while in college together at Sam Houston State University. I wanted to thank him and just became aware of his passing. After graduate school he came and moved in with me while I set up a master of science program at UE in Evansville. I was with him when he won a trifecta at the local race track. We shared to remarkable times together. He was a one of kind energetic friend. His memory is a blessing. My...

Mr. Leibowitz "Morty" was the Superintendent of the Rappahannock Regional Jail when I began working there in 1991 - he started out as my Boss and over the years turned into one of my dearest friends. My journey took me away from Virginia in 2000 ... but Morty has always remained in my mind and heart. I respected him greatly - he was kind and generous to not only me, but my family (even my own parents, who have both now passed, grew to love him!). My heart will forever be grateful for his...

My deepest condolences to Tandy, Molly and family. Morty was a wonderful friend and poker buddy, who had a wonderful sense of humor. We enjoyed many great dinners together, and yes, he loved dessert. I will miss him dearly.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Leibowitz. I worked at RRJ starting in 1993. I still remember my interview with him. He was always friendly with everyone and always spoke to everyone at the jail. I have some fond memories of him. My condolences to his family and his many friends. RIP Mr. Leibowitz!

So sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Leibowitz. I worked at RRJ starting in 1993. He was always so nice to everyone and always spoke to everyone when inside the jail. I still remember my interview with him. Such a kind, caring man. My condolences to his family and many friends. RIP Mr. Leibowitz.

So sorry to hear. I thought of Morty just last week as I passed by the Rappahannock Regional Jail site. As a bail bondsman during Morty's tenure at RRJ, I interacted with Morty on a regular basis. We discovered that we had both been raised in Brooklyn around the same time and we shared an avid interest in horse racing, leading to many enjoyable conversations. Gone too soon. My sincere condolences to wife Tandy and family. RIP, Morty.

Prayers to the family at this time of grief. I had the pleasure of working for Mr Leibowitz during his stay at the Rappahannock Jail. He did a lot for the RRJ. RIP

Such sweet memories of Morty when he lived in Huntsville, Texas. My heart hurts so much. My prayers are with his family during this difficult time.

On behalf of the Rappahannock Regional Jail, please accept our sincerest condolences. Senior staff and retirees have fond memories of Mr. Leibowitz and speak of him often.
