We will miss Mort and we send out our condolences to his family. We always enjoyed our Pre-Columbian dealings with him. We could count on him being fair and honest and, most of all, interested in and knowledgeable about the objects. His sense of humor was well honed and he was a delight to be around. Mort was my mentor in Pre-Columbian art and a great example in the beginning of my career of how you should conduct your business as an art dealer. More importantly Mort was a good man that to my knowledge never spoke a bad word about anybody. In fact if I were to sum up how his colleagues regarded him, I would say that Mort was Switzerland.
