Donald “Don” was the fourth of six children born to Marion Elizabeth Williams and Grafton Williams Sr, in Crisfield, Maryland on April 6, 1950. Dons was a close-knit family, and he embraced memories of very close friendships.  Their family raised Tennessee Walking horses, and his first mode of transportation was a pony, named Sugarfoot. Mr. Williams passed away November 10, 2024, in Temple, TX.

Don was drafted into the Army in 1968 and deployed to Vietnam.  While stationed on a tour in Augsburg, Germany, he met Kathryn (Kathy). They fell in love and were married for nearly 52 years.  Don and Kathy have five amazing children. To their union were born:  Donald Jr., Shaun, Katrina, and Michael Sean.  They were also blessed with the firstborn—big sister, Donna Lynn, from Don’s previous marriage.

Don enjoyed spending time with his family.  He had a very special relationship with his grandchildren, who lovingly referred to him as ‘P-Pop,’ and his nieces and nephews—some of whom referred to him as ‘Uncle P-pop’.  They looked forward to P-Pop’s fried chicken—savoring every bite, while listening intently to his sound advice.

In addition to his military service, Don earned an associate’s degree through the University of Maryland.  He also owned two trucks.   As a truck driver, He and Kathy enjoyed traveling together to different destinations.  Don was also a classic car enthusiast. Jokingly referring to his cars as his ‘girlfriends’.  He enjoyed restoring them and often entered them in car shows, winning several trophies.

Those left to cherish Mr. Williams’ memory are: his loving wife, Kathryn; daughters, Donna Lynn Minor (Marcos), and Katrina Portillo; sons, Donald Williams Jr., Shaun Williams, and Michael Sean Williams;  grandchildren, Kiara, Janell, Tyra, Isaiah, Amaya Rose, Xayvier, KeAndre, Quon, Michael, Brian, Serenity, Immanuel; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Kayson, and Greydon; Don’s siblings, Ann Johnson, Adalyn Tilghman (Harold). Quentin Williams, Cynthia Williams, Barbara Washington Smalling, Diane Washington White (Albert), Mitchell Sterling, Michael Sterling (Karen), Selena Maddox, Linette Cullen, Ivan Lankford; and a host of relatives and friends.
