Doremus “DAS” Anton Snipes was born March 15, 1987 to the late Calvin Snipes and Dorothy Snipes in Bronx, New York. He resided in Holly Hill, South Carolina until his death on Thursday, November 17, 2016.

He attended Cardinal Hayes High School in Bronx, New York. Upon relocating to Holly Hill, South Carolina in 2003, he attended Lake Marion High School and Technology Center in Santee, South Carolina where he graduated in 2005.


Doremus attended Orangeburg Calhoun Technical College in Orangeburg, South Carolina where he studied Computer Technology. He completed his studies in 2007. Doremus was a hard worker. He held jobs with Inter Media Marketing, Husqvarna, and was mostly recently employed at J.W. Aluminum.


“DAS” loved being around his family and friends, listening to music and playing video games. He was a loving and caring person who loved his sister very much.


He leaves to cherish his memories : a loving sister Ciara D. Snipes of the home; a grandmother Maggie Bryant of St. George, S.C.; three uncles Riley (Mary) Simmons of Holly Hill, S.C.; David Ladson of Roselle, N.J; Joseph Carson of Teaneck, N.J.; five aunts: Mary Simmons of Bronx, N.Y.; Marjorie (Louis) Washington of Holly Hill, S.C.; Queenie Hampton of Greensboro, N.C.; Geneva James and Marie Simmons, both of St. George, S.C.; one adopted sister Marilyn Fuller of Vance, S.C.; one godson, Nasir Louis Washington of Bronx, N.Y.; a host of cousins, other family members and friends.
