Services for Mr. James Allen Savage, age 53, of Petal, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Jones and Son Chapel in Hattiesburg.  Mr. Savage passed from this life on October 21, 2025.  Bro. Blake McCain will officiate the service and burial will follow in Midway First Baptist Church Cemetery in Sumrall.  Serving as pallbearers will be Rodney Duncan, Mitchell Raynes, Dennis Simmons, Robert Thomas, Lonnie Gaddis, and George Rush.


Mr. Savage was a longtime member of Midway First Baptist Church in Sumrall.  He was a graduate of Oak Grove High School and Jones County Junior College.  For over 20 years, he worked as a delivery driver for Builders First Choice in Hattiesburg. Prior to that, he served with the Mississippi Forestry Commission for more than 13 years as a forestry technician.  He was known for his dedication, hard work, and kind spirit. Outside of work, he was an avid Alabama fan and enjoyed cheering on the Crimson Tide.  He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.


He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Savage; and grandparents, Lee L. and Lucille Cameron, Elmo and Dorotha Savage.


He is survived by his wife, Candice Savage of Petal; children, Dakota Savage of Columbus, OH, Donovan Graves of Ocean Springs, and Mason Savage of Petal; parents, Allen and JoAnn Savage of Sumrall; parents-in-law, Kaye Duncan and Rodney Duncan, Sr., both of Petal; brother-in-law, Rodney (Misty) Duncan, Jr. of Oak Grove; and fur babies, Mazie, Odie, and Little Bit.
